SAFU or NOT Docs

Welcome to the quick rundown of how this tool works.
Nothing wild or complicated. Just straight info so you know what you’re dealing with.

What this tool does

You drop a link into the box.
You click Check Safety.
We scan the link using several different checks.
Then we give you a clean, simple report before you decide to visit the site.

What we check

General threats

We check the website against multiple public threat-detection services.
These services track known scam, phishing, and malware sites reported across the web.
If the site has been flagged anywhere, we show that clearly.

Domain info

We check basic domain details, including how old the website is.
Very new domains are often used for scams, so this helps add important context.
Older, established domains generally carry less risk.

SSL status

We check whether the site uses HTTPS and has a valid SSL certificate.
SSL does not guarantee safety, but a missing or broken certificate is a warning sign.

Redirect behavior

We look at whether the link sends you through multiple redirects before landing on the final page.
Scam sites often use long redirect chains to hide their true destination.
Too many redirects increases risk.

Look-alike domain detection

We check for fake or misleading domain names designed to look like real brands,
such as spelling changes, added letters, or strange extensions.
These “look-alike” sites are commonly used for phishing.

Wallet connection check

We scan the site’s code and content to see if it loads common Web3 wallet libraries
or tries to trigger wallet-related actions.
If a site may ask to connect a wallet, we tell you upfront.

Page behavior & content patterns

We lightly scan the page for common scam behaviors such as:
• Urgent “claim now” messages
• Forced wallet actions
• Known drainer / phishing patterns
This helps catch risky pages that may not be publicly reported yet.

Risk score & result

All signals are combined into a simple risk score labeled as:
• SAFU – no major red flags detected
• CAUTION – mixed or unclear signals
• NOT SAFU – strong warning signs present
We also show why the result was given so you can make your own decision.

What this tool is not

It’s not financial advice.
It’s not a guarantee of safety.
It does not replace your own judgment.
SAFU or NOT is a fast, first-line safety check designed to help you spot red flags before clicking something risky.

TL;DR

Paste link.
Press button.
If it’s:
• on scam lists
• a brand-new domain
• bouncing through redirects
• a fake look-alike site
• asking for your wallet
We call it out.
